'Dexter' renews for Season 6
In a move that should surprise no one, Showtime announced Monday morning that it will be renewing "Dexter" for a sixth season.
“Dexter” is the best suspense drama on television,” said David Nevins, president of entertainment for Showtime Networks. “This is the easiest decision I’ve made since I got to Showtime.”
"Dexter" had its second-highest ratings ever with this season's 10th episode (Nov. 28), delivering 2.54 million viewers, up 44% from the Season 5 premiere (1.77 million). The telecast came behind the Season 4 finale (2.57 million).
There is no word yet on when the new season will premiere or which guest stars will be appearing. Season 6’s episodes will go into production next spring in Los Angeles.
The “Dexter” Season 5 finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. Pacific time.

I know they are married but I have a feeling Deb will be dead by season's end.

Please bring back Julia Stiles for Season Six!!!

Dexter ROCKS!!! I am so anxious to watch the finale next week. Julia Stiles, Peter Weller and Johnny Lee Miller are so good. I guess it would be too much to hope that Julia (Lumen) survives next week and returns for the new season. Michael C. Hall and the regular cast are bodacious!!!!!!

Great, great show.
I have the feeling that Rita is not going to make it, however.

It's time to start thinning the cast. Some of the cops need to go. I vote for La Guerta.

Best show on tv.
Nothing comes close to the originality and great writing that 'Dexter' produces week after week. Michael C Hall is spectacular.
The truly amazing part of this show is how they can always come up with great guest stars for each season. After Lithgow, I believed they reached the top of the mountain and the show would gradually go downhill, but it didn't. The great writing kept the show rocking along. This season's newcomers, Julia Styles, Johnny Lee Miller, and Peter Weller (Robocop: "Drop It") have been excellent.

I'm really hoping Lumen survives the finale!!!.... I know someone has to go so please off La Guerta!

This is amazing. Thank G-d for season 5, season 2 almost ruined it for me, that british chick, as hot as she was, was annoying. I don't even know why I have this sick obsession with Dexter, but I mean a cute serial killer with a personality, classic. I am just happy I never watched 6 feet under, that might have ruined it for me. Julia styles better survive.. This is the best thing she's done in years. And I love her character. I want to be one of those people who stalk filmimgs of shows, and since now I live in LA, hopefully I'll "accidentally" bump into a taping or two... :D
Keep up the good work.

oh yeah P.s.
We all would love to see La Guerta go, but we all know the more we hate her, the longer she stays. Though I used to be so annoyed with Rita all the time with her whining and marriage counseling blah blah blah and her boring plane jane washed out, i obviously marry losers and I cant figure out why personality, I was happy and completely crushed when she was offed. I couldn't believe it, after all that crap talking I did, I didn't want her to die, maybe just divorce him and move on...

Beck, La Guerta is killed off in the first book by Dexter's brother. She is the most annoying of all the characters. Although I am loving this season with the whole Lumen thing, I have to say that Season 4 was the best by far. John Lithgow made it & it was superb.

So glad to hear that there will be a season 6, Dexter needs to be on forever!

I just LOVE Dexter!! Michael C. Hall is the best!! Loved him in Six Feet Under and have followed him ever since.
I really hope Julia Stiles returns next season; she and MCH are great together and it would be nice for Dexter to have a "partner in crime" so to speak.

I have come and gone with interest in the show... But I have to say, Lithgow sucked me back in, last season, and the addition of Julia Stiles and Johnny Lee Miller breathed new life into the show altogether... I LOVE this season and am hooked once again.. I also hope Lumen survived the finale.. (I havent watched yet, it is waiting on the DVR at home)

Can't wait till the 6th season to begin, big fan of the show since my brother put me on it. Great writing and a intense show. It seems to me that Deb is going to snag Dex.

GOT DEXTER? Better believe it. We can only hope LUMEN comes back into Dexters life next season. Season 4 was my fave season because John Lithgow was such a formidable foe. However, season 5 with Julia Styles as a commrade in harms equals and even surpasses (IMO) season 4. So let the chant begin "Bring Back Lumen"!

Yay! Season 6 coming soon! I'm so glad they renewed it, and I only hope they renew it again for a 7th season. Imagine what Dexter Season 7 could bring!
