DESPEREAUX RETURNS: Guest star Cary Elwes reprises his role in a new episode of “Psych” at 10 p.m. on USA.

SERIES

Undercovers: Sam and Steven (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Boris Kodjoe) head to Russia to investigate the disappearance of a plane and locate the pilot and a bomb that was allegedly aboard. Ben Schwartz and Gerald McRaney also star in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

The 44th Annual CMA Awards: Multiple nominee Brad Paisley and female vocalist of the year contender Carrie Underwood return to host the annual gala honoring country music’s best. Highlights include a performance by Taylor Swift; an appearance by Gwyneth Paltrow performing the theme from her new movie “Country Strong”; and a salute to Loretta Lynn by Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow (8 p.m. ABC).

Criminal Minds: When a kidnapped woman is found murdered in an alley in an upscale Washington, D.C., neighborhood, Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and the team try to find the killer before he strikes again. Sally Kirkland and Robert Knepper guest star as an aging film star and her son in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS).

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Marcia Gay Harden reprises her role as an FBI agent who is working under cover when she is sexually assaulted. She asks Benson (Mariska Hargitay) to handle her rape kit, then goes back to her assignment, refusing to talk about the attack, fearing she will be pulled off the case she is working (9 p.m. NBC).

MythBusters: Six small myths are tested in this new episode (9 p.m. Discovery).

SPECIALS WWII in HD: The Air War: This new special to uses archival footage — in color, and high definition — to bring to life the historic fight for control of the skies over Europe during the Second World War (9 p.m. History).

MOVIES

The Magic of Ordinary Days: A pregnant city girl (Keri Russell) is married off to a taciturn farmer (Skeet Ulrich) in this 2005 TV romance set in Colorado during World War II. Mare Winningham co-stars (9 p.m. Hallmark).

SPORTS

Basketball: The Clippers visit the San Antonio Spurs (6:30 p.m. FS Prime).

Hockey: The New York Islanders visit the Ducks (7 p.m. FSN).
