This week’s TV Movies

SUNDAY

All aboard for the “2010 Soul Train Awards.” Smooth-jazz songstress Anita Baker and R&B cool cat Ron Isley of Isley Brothers fame get career nods, while Cee-Lo, R. Kelly, Freddie Jackson and Erykah Badu are among the many performers. (BET, 9 p.m.)

There’s mystery, mayhem and murder most foul afoot in the north of England in the decade-spanning “Red Riding Trilogy.” Andrew Garfield (“The Social Network”) and Rebecca Hall (“The Town”) star in the first episode, set in 1974. (Sundance, 10 p.m.)

MONDAY

The 2010 documentary “Restrepo” sets politics and punditry aside and takes you into the thick of the fight with U.S. troops defending a small base and patrolling a rugged valley in a remote corner of Afghanistan. (National Geographic, 6 and 9 p.m.)

TUESDAY

There’ll be a bunch of folks bundled up for “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” with scheduled performers including Mariah Carey, Josh Groban and Sheryl Crow, and a whole lot of ladies wearing substantially less at “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” with musical guests Katy Perry (left) and Akon. (NBC, 8 p.m.; CBS, 10 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

Welcome to the White House, sir. First day on the job? Then prop your feet up on that Oval Office desk and settle in for some light reading with “The President’s Book of Secrets.” You know, nuclear protocols, intelligence reports, the usual. (History, 9 p.m.)

THURSDAY

“I’ll take ‘Media Moguls’ for 200, Alex.” “This singer turned talk-show host made a mint in real estate and created ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Jeopardy!’” “Who is Merv Griffin?” “Correct.” He’s profiled on “CNBC Titans.” (CNBC, 6, 7, 9 and 10 p.m.)

FRIDAY

It’s hard out there for a schoolteacher, what with the uninspired students, uninvolved parents, etc. But there are lessons to be learned — life lessons — like in the inspirational new made-for-TV movie “A Walk in My Shoes.” Nancy Travis stars. (8 p.m. NBC)

SATURDAY

If Nicolas Cage is acting even crazier than usual, it’s just because he’s decoded a handwritten note that seems to have predicted every major disaster over the last 50 years, with far worse to come, in director Alex Proyas’ eerie, apocalyptic 2009 sci-fi fable, “Knowing.” Rose Byrne (right, with Cage) also stars. (Showtime, 8 p.m.)
