SINGING IN THE RAIN:
When Will falls ill, a substitute teacher (Gwyneth Paltrow, front) takes over the club in a new episode of “Glee” at 8 p.m. Fox.  

SERIES

Explorer: Scientists head to Papua New Guinea in a quest to solve the mysteries of human mummification in a tropical climate (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

NCIS:  Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team must protect Ziva’s (Cote de Pablo) father (Michael Nouri) when his attendance at a convention leads to unexpected surprises. Arnold Vosloo also guest stars in this new episode (8 p.m. CBS).

One Tree Hill: As Thanksgiving comes to Tree Hill, the gang gathers at the home of Nathan and Haley (James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Galeotti, who also directed this episode) for the holiday together in this new episode (8 p.m. KTLA).

No Ordinary Family: Jim (Michael Chiklis) risks revealing his secret identity as he tries to take down a dangerous and elusive mobster in this new episode (8 p.m. ABC).

Life Unexpected: A potential client (Krista Allen) has eyes for Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) in this new episode (9 p.m. KTLA).

Raising Hope: Hope starts imitating the dogs at her day care in this new episode (9 p.m. Fox).

Independent Lens:  The new episode “The Longoria Affair” tells the story of a Mexican-American GI, who died fighting the Japanese during World War II, and the Texas funeral parlor that refused to hold a wake for him (10 p.m. KCET).

The Fashion Show: The designers must complete a line inspired by the inner workings of the human body in this new episode (10 p.m. Bravo).

Apocalypse PA.:  Frank and Adam attempt to build a truck that runs solely on burning wood in a new episode (10 p.m. History). 

Glory Daze: In this new series, four freshmen try to decide what they want out of life as they begin classes at an Indiana college in 1986 (10 p.m. TBS).

SPORTS

Pro basketball: The Lakers visit the Milwaukee Bucks (5 p.m. KCAL).

Hockey: The Ducks visit the Dallas Stars (6 p.m. FS Prime).

College basketball: San Diego State at Gonzaga (8 p.m. ESPN2).
