‘FRONTLINE: FACING DEATH':
This new episode documents the work of doctors and nurses who help families with end-of-life choices at 9 p.m. on KCET. 

SERIES

Explorer: In this new episode scientists investigate dogs, chickens, foxes and rats in an effort to understand the process of domesticating animals — a major factor in the evolution of human civilization (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic). 

NCIS: As Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team deal with the aftermath of a deadly attack. Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, Cote de Pablo and Michael Nouri also star in this new episode (8 p.m. CBS). 

No Ordinary Family: Jim's (Michael Chiklis) new career as a crime fighter is in jeopardy when he loses his powers, and Stephanie (Julie Benz) tries to find out what happened in this new episode (8 p.m. ABC). 

Glee: Carol Burnett guest stars in this new episode as Sue's (Jane Lynch) mom, who's in town to see her and Jean (Robin Trocki) (8 p.m. Fox). 

NCIS: Los Angeles: In the conclusion of a two-part story, Hetty (Linda Hunt) and her colleagues continue their search for a book with sensitive secrets in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS). 

Dancing With the Stars: Christina Aguilera performs and the finalists perform their favorite dances of the season before the winner is announced in the finale of the controversial season of the unscripted dancing competition series (9 p.m. ABC). 

Raising Hope: When Jimmy (Lucas Neff) invites Hope's other grandparents (Greg Germann, Valerie Mahaffey) to spend the holiday with the family, they kidnap Hope, and it's up to the Chances to track them down in this new episode (9 p.m. Fox). 

Independent Lens: The new documentary “Deep Down” delves into the tough choices that face communities in coal-rich regions by focusing on two Kentuckians on opposite sides of the issue of mountaintop removal coal mining (10 p.m. KCET). 

MOVIES 

Alice in Wonderland: Alice returns to Underland, where she must find her destiny in this 2010 live action/animation featuring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska (9 p.m. Starz). 

SPORTS

Basketball: The Chicago Bulls visit the Lakers (7:30 p.m. FSN).
