“Glee’s” “Other Asian” is getting his due. Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike Chang, will be promoted to a series regular next season, a Fox rep for the show confirms.

Harry’s trajectory from background player to series regular is similar to that of Heather Morris (Brittany) and Naya Rivera (Santana), who were bumped up to series regulars this season. Since Morris and Rivera have stepped up and gotten some of the best lines this season, we can only hope a promotion means more dialogue and maybe some backstory for the Glee Club’s best dancer. And, of course, more dancing like last night’s ‘Make ‘Em Laugh’ dance-off with Mr. Schuester.

Readers, are you glad to see Harry promoted? What would you like to see happen with Mike Chang? Are rooting for Mike and Tina, or does your heart long for Tina to get back together with Artie?
