CBS' 'Early Show' shakeup

The early bird doesn't always get the worm.

CBS' "Early Show" is playing musical chairs yet again by replacing its on-air team. Making their exit are Maggie Rodriguez, Harry Smith and Dave Price.

Moving in are Chris Wragge and Erica Hill, co-anchors of the Saturday edition of the "Early Show" since 2008, who are scheduled to take over as co-anchors of the weekday show starting Jan. 3. 

Also joining the team will be Jeff Glor, who has been anchoring the network's Saturday newscast, and Marysol Castro of ABC's "Good Morning America" weekend edition, who will serve as a weather anchor.

Smith will become the primary substitute anchor for Katie Couric's evening newscast, "Face the Nation" and "Sunday Morning."

New roles for Rodriguez and Price are to be determined.

Maggie Rodriguez is the only reason I watched the Early Show. I will stick with Fox News and Robin Meade.

I have faithfully watched with enjoyment this show for many years. I will start tuning in to the other 2 networks because of this change. Harry Smith cannot be beaten and Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price are just as good. HOW COULD YOU?

this sucks they should have never let those three go. Dave Price was awesome . They all brought humor and seriousness to the viewers. Not happy at all I think I will change to ABC :O(

I am very disappointed to see that CBS is replacing this morning team. I really like all 3 of these folks and will no longer watch the Early Show.

I loved watching Harry, Maggie and Dave every morning. Now I have to look forward to watching a team of young yuppies who have no concept of how to relate to us "baby boomers". I will be moving to ABC.

What is wrong with you people? I had to miss the Early Show several days in Dec., so when I finally got to tune in, Maggie & Dave were gone, and Harry was saying goodbye. After watching them for years, they had become like old friends. Harry can never be replaced and Dave is "Priceless". Big mistake,CBS. I doubt if I will be watching The Early Show anymore, or CBS for that matter. Too bad...

Sorry to say, but Chris Wragge was tough enough to watch on Saturday mornings... now he'll be on five days a week... not for this viewer! He comes across as such a smart-aleck and a poor choice for a morning news show. Erica Hill is terrific, but can't carry the show on her own.

I cannot believe that CBS would be this stupid.. I have been watching the early show for 29 years. Harry, Julie and Dave made my mornings, then Maggie came. They are the morning show for a lot of people. They will be missed by my family very much. So Jan. 3rd. I'll be checking out another morning show.

Harry Smith was 'dead weight' on that show... he took the other two with him.
D Price was irritating at best on weather.
It was a move that should of taken place 6 months ago. The new team looks fresh, young, and will bring CBS back up in AM time slot. Congrats to them!

we have the tv on cbs in the morning and most of the day . that wont be the case now. we enjoyed harry dave maggie & erica. sorry but chris is to stuffed shirt like so we be watching else where. sounds to me that some boss trying to justify his job. think this is a very bad move. maybe you need a new boss who understands people.

Who made the dumpest move in history? My family and friends loved the morning show with Harry, Dave and Maggie. All three made the show and NOW we are trying to find a NEW station to watch. The ones you have on now are trying too hard and does not have what Harry, Dave and Maggie had naturally - they didn't have to try. Thanks for making us have to go find another station to watch. They started our day with SUNSHINE.

I am sorry you have choosen to take the Early Show morning crew off. I really enjoyed Harry,Dave and Maggie. I can not stand to watch the show at all. Now that you have changed the team. Please bring the old crew or team back, I have stopped watching the show now . I turn off the TV from 7 to 9>
