Mea culpa! Rick Sanchez apologizes to Jon Stewart

Sanchez Love means never having to say you're sorry -- because, sometimes, your wife can do it for you.

On Monday, Suzanne Sanchez, who's married to former CNN newscaster Rick Sanchez, noted on her Facebook page that her husband had made amends with Jon Stewart after calling him a "bigot" during a radio interview.

"rick apologized to jon stewart today," wrote the mother of Sanchez's four children. "they had a good talk. jon was gracious and called rick 'thin-skinned.' his exhaustion from working 14 hr days for 2 mo. straight caused him to mangle his thought process inartfully. he got caught up in the banter and deeply apologizes to anyone who was offended by his unintended comments."

For his part, Sanchez remains silent about the ordeal, though more than 150,000 people follow him on Twitter, waiting for him to comment. His last tweet -- dated Sept. 30, before he was fired -- marks a bygone era. "great shows today," it says, "last night on air... great numbers... yeah."

CNN fires Rick Sanchez

Rick Sanchez simply said what everyone already knows. Author Oliver Stone said the same thing recently and later was forced to apologise. Many others have said this as well.
None of these people hve broken the law. Free Speech still exists ....for now. Remember Stewart provoked the whole mess calling Sanchez a twit etc. As for the Media and the Networks, why not Google the names of the Key Execs and their personal history. You be the Judge.

Rick Sanchez is a good man .. i know how he felt ,real man say sorry when he has to.. Keep the good job Rick.

Freedom of speech exists, no one prevented him from saying what he wanted...however, freedom to keep your employment for yapping your mouth with nonsense is not a guarrenteed freedom.

And I'm not Jewish, I'm an atheist.

Rick must stand for what he said, and not for what others want him to say!!!

Rick Sanchez didn't need to be fired for his comments on Stewart or Jews — he needed to be fired because he's a blowhard and an ignoramus and he seriously degraded the already declining quality of CNN.

Any one who watched Rick's CNN show knew that he was as smart as Sarah Palin.

Isn't this guy related to Geraldo?

When is Jon Stewart going to apologize to Rick Sanchez?

Rick Sanchez didn't just call Jon Stewart a bigot, he went on to say his now former bosses at CNN were "like Jon Stewart." Calling your bosses out as racist bigots on a national radio show is even more dumb than the stuff Stewart used to make fun of Sanchez for doing on his CNN show.

It's also ridiculous. Sanchez was given more opportunity than 99% of all local news anchors when he was tabbed by MSNBC and later CNN, this despite his conviction on a DUI charge involving an incident where Sanchez ran over a man who later died. Sanchez and his father had been drinking at a football game prior to hiting the man, the he fled the scene, returning an hour or two later, claiming his blood alcohol level was over the limit because he had drinks after the accident to "calm his nerves."

Most people would have a hard time getting work with such legal troubles in their past, but Sanchez was handed one of the very few plum jobs available in his line of work and should have thanked his lucky stars in stead of biting the hand that fed him.

Rick Sanchez is a good man. He doesn't deserve to be fired. There's always the freedom of speech. Jon Stewart started all of this. He should also apologize to Rick Sanchez. Stewart cost him his job.
