ABC pulls the plug on 'The Whole Truth' but will air all episodes
ABC's "The Whole Truth" joins three other freshmen series that failed to make the grade this fall.
The drama, starring Rob Morrow and Maura Tierney, will complete production on 13 episodes, according to co-executive producer Kristie Anne Reed, who tweeted Tuesday morning that ABC "gave us the word." ABC will air all 13 episodes, though the show will be preempted for two specials for the next two weeks.
Fox's "Lone Star," NBC's "Outlaw," which is airing remaining episodes on Saturdays, and ABC's "My Generation" have already been canceled. NBC's "Undercovers" and Fox's "Running Wilde" are on shaky ground and will probably also face elimination.
On Monday, ABC gave extra episode orders to the drama "Detroit 1-8-7," but the Michael Imperioli-led drama hasn't earned a full-season order.
The rest of the freshman class indeed has.

I, too, am very disappointed The Whole Truth was cancelled. It seems if a show is slow to catch on, it gets axed. This is my main complaint about network TV.

I hope ABC reconsiders. This was a great show. The actors were superb and we liked having the truth come out in the end. The show was in a tough time slot, come on ABC give the show a chance.

My guess is The Whole Truth is another great show that bites the dust because there isn't enough blood, gutts, guns and explosions involved. Never mind the fact it told intelligent stories and got people thinking!

This is some crap. I love the whole truth. Stop pulling shows until they have had time to catch on. I too love the forgotten and that was cancelled, just like V. I am very mad. Pull the bachelor instead that is a total waste of time and no one gets married. It's simply fake!!

This is the only show I watch on ABC! Guess they aren't interested in me as a viewer, nothing else they show interests me at all.

I am bummed it was canceled. But I will be even more upset if they cancel Detroit 187. That and Raising Hope on Fox are the best new shows this year. So sad they have to cancel great shows that have a great following just because it didn't get all the views that night. Give them a chance. If Detroit is canceled I will be so so so upset.

I had no idea that this show was cancelled, I loved the way this show was presented. It was totally different then the others, I especially loved the chemistry between Maura Tierney and Rob Morrows characters. The ending was a bonus to watch, I absolutely looked forward to every show. I think the network should give it another go, it was way too soon to cancel. I am super disappointed.

This show is so good...Why would they not give it a shot. It is to soon to pull the plug. I love this show because it is so real. At the end of the show it shows you if the person was guilty or not... and lets you see how many innoncent or guilty people actually go free or not. I love this show.

I am shocked that abc would cancel The Whole Truth after such a short run.The writing was great, clever and interesting! The plot was interesting and challenged the viewer. Can't we have really intelligent drama - or is that asking too much of the a-b-c network. Do you really want to be the "simple network of the simple shows for the simple public..." only? It was a challenge to follow - but that's what added to the total dynamics of the program - which I have never seen before and needs time to attract an audience. So how about giving it some time? You won't regret it and it will make your viewers Happy!

I am soooo disappointed. I thought the premise of the show was brillant. The actors were awesome. How sad.

Why would you cancel the show that many have grown to love then torture us by letting us watch the rest of the episodes from the season. I mean its like me taking my kids to the pet store having them fall in love with a puppy and then telling them they cant have one.you didnt even give the show a chance.i dvr it every wednesday so i can watch it when my kids are sleeping.are you counting people like me that use the dvr i mean i thought thats what its for.my dad and i call eachother every week and debate on whos guilty and who isnt. Please dont do this cause i can guarentee that because you networks keep canceling shows to quickly you are going to lose alot of viewers because whats the point anymore you keep getting us hooked on a show then after a few episodes you pull it.you did at the beginning of the year to two shows.give them a chance.

I love this show. It is the best thing ABC has had in many seasons. Great cast, great chemistry! It is a pleasure to watch instead of all the crappy reality shows.

The Whole Truth was my favorite new show this season. What a brilliant and different concept; never done before, except as occasional (& always well-received, even award-nominated) single episodes on other shows. Perfect cast, chemistry, plots & guest stars...so great to see so many "ER" alumni. So clever to alternate the winners irregularly, so that we have no idea each week. So true to life how each side seems like a no-brainer...until we see the other side. WTF are they thinking?

Oh, and another thing: That totally satisfying gem at the end where we find out what REALLY happened...what more could you ask for to tie up an ending of a criminally-based them? NO other similar show that I can recall ever did that.

Why is it they take off shows that someone has to use their mind they really have a bad choice for what people want. Oh is it money another reality show coming up?

I love this show!!! They keep cancelling some really good shows! I also liked the deep end, which they also canceled.... seriously! Stop canceling tthings before they get really good! I mean I didn't start watching greys anatomy till the second season... give it a chance!
