SERIES

30 for 30: This new episode from filmmaker Barbara Kopple, “The House of Steinbrenner,” looks at the legacy of the New York Yankees' late owner (5 p.m. ESPN and 8:30 p.m. ESPN2).

NCIS: Gibbs (Mark Harmon) must take desperate measures to protect loved ones in the season premiere (8 p.m. CBS). Spinoff series “NCIS: Los Angeles” launches its season with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 10.

The Biggest Loser: In the season premiere, Jillian and the trainers travel to seven cities to find contestants (8 p.m. NBC).

Dancing With the Stars: The first elimination takes place; Santana performs and Daughtry performs (8 p.m. ABC).

Glee: Will (Matthew Morrison) urges the glee club to recruit new members in the season premiere (8 p.m. Fox).

Raising Hope: Lucas Neff plays a 23-year-old slacker charged with raising the infant born of a one-night stand in this new comedy (9 p.m. Fox).

Warehouse 13: Pete, Myka (Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly) and the rest of the team race to stop a new threat in the season finale (9 p.m. Syfy).

Running Wilde: An oil tycoon's son (Will Arnett) tries to win the heart of a tree-hugging do-gooder (Keri Russell), his childhood sweetheart (9:30 p.m. Fox).

Detroit 1-8-7: A film crew follows a jaded, borderline reckless detective (Michael Imperioli) and his rookie partner (Jon Michael Hill) in this new drama (10 p.m. ABC).

SPORTS

Baseball: The San Diego Padres visit the Dodgers (7 p.m. KCAL); the Texas Rangers visit the Angels (7 p.m. FSN).
