When you’re Oprah Winfrey, only the best in television real estate will do. And that means having a killer ‘View.’ Kind of.
On the heels of the announcement that Mark Burnett is producing the upcoming “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” on the veteran TV host’s network, comes word that he’ll also produce a daily talk show panel for the new network, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
Details are slim. The show is still in development, a network spokesperson told Show Tracker, but will feature multiple hosts — kind of like a certain ABC daytime show. Or maybe it’s kind of like the upcoming CBS daytime show? Let’s just hope it’s not like NBC’s “The Other Half.” (What was that about?)
If we at Show Tracker were asked to serve as consultants in picking the co-hosts (which we’re sure we will not be), this would be our dream team:
--Zoila (Bravo’s “Flipping Out”): Jeff Lewis’ dedicated housekeeper is not only killer with a mop and broom, she’s up to date with telenovelas. And if you cross her, she’ll likely tell you to “Shut up!”
-- Tori Spelling (“Beverly Hills, 90210”): She has kids. A husband … who occasionally drives her nuts. And she’s been known to spur activism — “Donna Martin graduates!”
--Gayle King: Because it’s likely to happen anyway, so why fight it?
--Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi (“Jersey Shore”): Hey, she’s a trendsetter — hair poofs and leopard print are forever indebted to the pint-size reality starlet. She’s well aware of current events — like taxes on tanning. And if the voices ever get crowded, she’s likely to “Waahhh” her way to being heard.
The cable network, a joint venture of Winfrey and Discovery Communications, is set to launch in January.
