With Steve Carell ditching his post as the world’s best boss on “The Office,” little attention has been paid to the rest of his Dunder Mifflin family … aside from what they think of Carell’s departure.

Let’s give the big guy a break (that’s what she said) now.

Our sister site Brand X chatted with Jenna Fischer about the upcoming season of the NBC comedy, which premieres its seventh season on Sept. 23, and we can expect to see Pam Beasley in a new office position.

“Pam gets a new job this year,” Fischer revealed. “She ends up sort of taking a new position in the office. I don’t want to give away too much. Some of that revolves around her desire to be a little bit more available to her family and also have an easier job. So she manages to finagle a new position at work.”

Hmm. Could she be the new manager of the Scranton branch? It’s not like Michael spent much time doing work anyway.

And fans of Cecelia Marie Halpert, Jim (John Krasinki) and Pam’s baby, will be seeing a lot more of her.

“So far she’s been in three of our first seven episodes,” Fischer said. “Pretty much any time we get to see baby Cece is great. She was on set today and they got the cutest baby in town to play our baby. It’s actually a set of twin girls.”
