Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape: In this new series, the acerbic chef cooks his way across India, discovering the culinary secrets of the country’s most famous dishes along the way (6 and 9 p.m. BBC America).

Naked Science: This new episode follows researchers who study and experiment to learn more about lightning and violent thunderstorms (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

So You Think You Can Dance: Flo Rida performs; Janelle Monáe performs in this results episode (9 p.m. Fox).

The Real Housewives of D.C.: The latest installment in Bravo’s red-hot “Housewives” franchise is set in our nation’s capital and follows five women who circulate in the Beltway’s social scene. Included among the women featured is infamous White House party crasher Michaele Salahi (9 p.m. Bravo).

The Squad: Prison Police: This new unscripted series follows the special agents assigned to investigate every major crime in the Tennessee prison system. (10 p.m. A&E). A second new episode investigates a prison stabbing (10:30 p.m.)

Futurama: In this new episode, Earth is invaded by a race of intelligent cats (10 p.m. Comedy Central).

Stan Lee’s Superhumans: Comics legend Stan Lee and Daniel Browning Smith — dubbed the most flexible man in the world — co-host this series that travels the globe in search of people who have remarkable powers. In the premiere they’re off to India to investigate a legend that a man has developed immunity to electric current (10 p.m. History).

MOVIES

Sixteen Candles: Molly Ringwald shines in this touching 1984 comedy, written and directed by John Hughes, as a girl whose family forgets her 16th birthday. Anthony Michael Hall also stars (7 p.m. ABC Family).

The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights: Filmmaker Emmett Malloy chronicles a quirky Canadian tour by iconic American musical duo Jack and Meg White in this 2009 documentary (8 p.m. Showtime).

SPORTS

Baseball: The Angels visit the Baltimore Orioles (4 p.m. FSN); the San Diego Padres visit the Dodgers (7 p.m. FS Prime).
