Spike Lee returns to New Orleans for second Katrina HBO documentary

Spike Lee has added a new chapter to his sprawling 2006 HBO documentary, “When The Levees Broke,” which examined the horror and devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
In the new HBO documentary, “If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise,” Lee looks at the social, political and economic upheaval which still plagues New Orleans in its recovery efforts. He bookends the documentary with the victory of the New Orleans Saints in the 2010 Super Bowl and the recent oil spill in the Gulf Coast, which has wrecked further havoc with residents and businesses.
The two-part, four-hour project premieres Monday on HBO.
