CBS announces 'The Talk' premiere date

CBS announced Wednesday that its new daytime talk show called -- fittingly -- “The Talk” will premiere Oct. 18.

The panel of women -- Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert (who helped develop the show), Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokour -- will discuss and, likely, bicker about topical events and contemporary issues through the “lens of motherhood," according to the release.

The show, which replaces “As The World Turns,” will tape before a studio audience.

It will air weekdays at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.
