The “Jersey Shore” crew is back on Thursday at 10 p.m. for the hit MTV show’s second season. But the action this time is 1,200 miles south of Seaside Heights, N.J., in the tropical and cosmopolitan setting of Miami Beach. Executive producer SallyAnn Salsano set up house for her “kids” at the Hotel Metropole South Beach, where production took over the ground floor and custom-built the young party animals a stylish beach pad.

The Times visited the “Jersey Shore” set in May, a month after the new season began filming. Salsano took us on a tour of the house when all of the roommates were hanging out on South Beach, except for Angelina “Jolie” Pivarnick, 24, who was preparing for an interview with producers for the show. Although the location is different and the cast is now famous, Salsano said viewers should expect them to behave like the people they met in the first season.

“They can’t really come to us differently because we met them in their mother’s basement, and to me, they’ll always be those kids,” Salsano said. “To us, they really can’t put on a front because we know them. Yeah, they may have a little more money, but they’re still the same lovable knuckleheads.”

Their house is different, though. There is no duck phone.
