Christine Baranski is no stranger to Emmy nominations. Before Thursday, she had received six of them.

Now, she’s got two more under her belt: a supporting actress nod for her work on CBS’ “The Good Wife” and a guest actress nod for her role on CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory.”

But “The Good Wife” acknowledgment stands out for the actress known more for her comedic chops.

“I’ll tell you what’s delightful about it -- it’s my first time on a television series playing a serious role,” she said. “Because everyone knows me for the comedic roles. So being nominated for a dramatic role and not just comedy is great. That’s really special.”

Baranski says she’s pleased that both of the characters are smart women. On “The Good Wife,” she plays a top litigator. On “Big Bang,” she’s a scientist.

“I just went out to lunch with my daughter who is going to law school,” she said. “We had wine and toasted: Here’s to accomplished women.”
