Explorer: The repeat episode “Secret History of Gold” probes the dark underbelly of the gold trade with a treasure hunter and an illegal miner (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

America's Got Talent: Auditions begin in Los Angeles as the nationwide talent show returns for a new season (8 p.m. NBC).

Wipeout: Twelve couples on a first date take on the obstacle course in hopes of winning $100,000 as the goofy competition series returns for a third season (8 p.m. ABC).

Hell's Kitchen: In the season premiere, chef Gordon Ramsay requires the 16 new contestants to successfully complete the opening dinner service (8 p.m. Fox).

One Big Happy Family: The unscripted series returns for a new season (9 and 9:30 p.m. TLC).

Losing It With Jillian: In the premiere of this new health and fitness series, Jillian Michaels visits a family whose father has had an unsuccessful gastric bypass surgery and tries to push the family outside of its physical comfort zones (10 p.m. NBC).

20/20: This new episode profiles men and women with unusual abilities, including a man who ran 50 marathons in 50 days and people who can swim long distances under water without oxygen tanks (10 p.m. ABC).

The Little Couple: In the season premiere, Bill and Jen each gets a new look for summer (10 p.m. TLC).

Dinner With the Band: Guests include the Mountain Goats (10:30 p.m. IFC).

SPORTS

Tennis: French Open, men's and women's quarterfinals (9 a.m. ESPN2).

WNBA Basketball: The Phoenix Mercury visit the Minnesota Lynx (4:30 p.m. ESPN2); the Atlanta Dream visit the Seattle Storm (6:30 p.m. ESPN2).

Baseball: The Angels visit the Kansas City Royals (5 p.m. FSN); the Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Dodgers (7 p.m. KCAL).
