Good news for people who are afraid that somebody is being murdered each time Mary Murphy screams on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’: In Season 7 she will no longer be sitting behind the judges’ desk.

Fox on Monday sent out a press release announcing that for the upcoming season, sometimes choreographer Mia Michaels and full-time judge Murphy will be switching places, as Mia will sit on the panel with Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman. Meanwhile, according to EW.com, Murphy appeared as a guest judge during auditions and will choreograph for Season 7.

What do you think of this news? I personally can get tired of Murphy’s caterwauling and catchphrases (I’m one of those people who doesn’t miss Paula Abdul either on ‘Idol’), but I would love to see her work as a choreographer on the show -- that’s what makes ‘SYTYCD’ so great, its stars can wear different hats, so for me this is win-win.

As for Michaels, we know that while she might speak at a lower decibel than Murphy, she always makes her opinions known and isn’t afraid to say the unpopular thing, which is why she should be great as a permanent judge.
