‘Smallville’ to end its run

Even Clark Kent’s superhero abilities aren’t enough to save “Smallville.”
The CW is pulling the plug on the show after next season, the network confirmed Wednesday.
News swirled through the blogosphere that Tom Welling was ready to turn in his suit after a post on HollywoodLife.com quoted the actor, while at a party Tuesday in Beverly Hills, as saying, “Season 10 of Smallville will be the last season.”
More on the announcement is expected to be made at the network’s upfront presentation in New York on Thursday.
