FX picks up ‘Justified’ for a second season

Wanted: A second season of FX’s freshman drama “Justified.”

The cable network announced Monday that the Western drama, starring Timothy Olyphant, will return for a second season with a 13-episode order.

“We are very excited about the tremendous, widespread acclaim that ‘Justified’ has received from both audiences and television critics,” John Landgraf, president and general manager of FX Networks, said in a statement.

The first season still has six more episodes scheduled to air before the the season finale on June 8.

The Sony-produced drama, based on a character created by Elmore Leonard, opened to impressive ratings, drawing 4.9 million viewers for its premiere. The number has since dropped, but the series has averaged 3.4 million viewers through its first seven episodes.
