CBS orders 'Criminal Minds' spinoff starring Forest Whitaker

Make room for an Oscar winner on CBS.

CBS is moving ahead with plans to spin off its criminal procedural hit, "Criminal Minds," with Forest Whitaker at the helm.

Earlier Monday, the network picked up three other dramas, "Hawaii 5-0," "Bad Bloods" and "Defenders." It also ordered a comedy, "Mike & Molly," last week.

CBS is not revealing the series' fancy title. Maybe it doesn't have one yet. Should we make some suggestions?

What a disappointment. That episode was terrible and the team in the spin-off was beyond unbelievable (it's illegal for anyone convicted of a felony to work for the FBI, for instance.). The smarmy faux SAS guy was the worst offender in my book.

Now fans of the original series, which I've been since the beginning, have to worry about a decline in quality on the original show since the showrunners and writers will have their attention divided with a subpar embarrassment.

Oh Good GRIEF! This was the WORST episode of CM's fifth season and, as a longtime viewer, I was really peeved at the time and energy spent leading up to what can only be charitbly called a stinking pile of excrement.

Hopefully, the blasted thing won't last 6 eps. It shouldn't. Why don't TV execs EVER do the smart thing and concentrate on the good show they've got instead of getting greedy and diluting it to the point of idiocy?

i was excited about the new show . i cant wait to hear about the new cases and even though the cast isnt great there could be replacements. i say keep expectations low and fingers cossed but it could turn out great. just be optimistic

i am not watching the spin off if paget brewster is not on criminal minds and if aj cook is really being fired. im boycotting and starting a CBS stinks (to be nice) protest! so get it straight.
