CBS orders a new sitcom by Chuck Lorre's company

Is Chuck Lorre trying to become Jack Bauer? As if he wasn't busy enough at the helm of "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory," his production company has a new CBS sitcom, "Mike and Molly."

Mark Roberts, of "The Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men," wrote the multi-camera comedy about a couple who both struggle with overeating. The cast includes Billy Gardell ("Bad Santa"), Katy Mixon ("Eastbound and Down"), Reno Wilson ("Crank"), Swoosie Kurtz  ("Pushing Daisies") and Nyambi Nyambi.

Sitcom veteran James Burrows directed the pilot.

Already with the two must successful sitcoms on the air, could Lorre and his company be heading toward a trifecta? CBS is hoping so.
