Betty White says she 'has no idea' what 'SNL' 'is doing with me'
All of a sudden, the nation has come down with Betty Mania, and no one is more confused about it than Betty White herself. The 88-year-old entertainer appeared on "Larry King Live" Wednesday to talk about the recent resurgence her career is experiencing.
"Don't ask me, it came out of nowhere," she told King, referring to the Facebook campaign that earned her a seat at the "Saturday Night Live" table for the May 8 episode, which will serve as a reunion of 'SNL' stars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon and Maya Rudolph, with special guests Rachel Dratch and White as host.
Saying she is "very, very nervous" about it, White said she was asked to host three years ago but she turned it down because "it's so New York, and I'm not New York."

I've had Betty Mania since I first watched her on the classic Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1970s. After that it was her role on the Golden Girls that made me an even bigger Betty fan-if that was possible. She's a national treasure and is admired and loved for her work in Hollywood AND her many years of caring for animals. We are so very lucky to have her.
