ABC renews 'Castle' 'because the show gets better every year'
Good news for Rick Castle and Kate Beckett: their will-they-or-won't they romantic comedy will live to see another TV season.
"Castle," which ABC says has delivered its biggest audience for a scripted series in its time period since 1996, has been renewed for a third season.
ABC President of Entertainment Steve McPherson said the network "believed in 'Castle' and its team from the beginning and have patiently built it into the hit we knew it could be. This success is the result of the powerful collaboration that we forged between the network and the studio with the formation of the ABC Entertainment Group last year. Not only does the audience get bigger each week, the show gets better every year, and we're looking forward to an incredible third season."

What a lovely development.
Last night's episode garnered its highest ratings yet (raw numbers at my last glance were a 3.7 in viewers 18-49, besting a rerun of CSI:Miami (a show that in the past has done well in reruns) and Law & Order.
Go Team Castle!

I really enjoy this show and I'm happy it will be around for another season. Though I do hope they won't stringus along too long before they get toghether. Press releases have compared them to Nick and Nora Charles and other couples who work together and still have a wonderful and witty banter. Hopefully, all involved will see that they have an audience intelligent enough to handle people in a relationship and stay with the show.

I absolutely love Castle and am so happy it's renewed! I don't agree with hooking up Castle and Beckett - that seems to be the kiss of death for most tv couples. I think I'd rather be tortured by "will they or won't they" for a few more seasons and let them hook up at the end - BEFORE they jump the shark! (XFiles, Remington Steele, Bones, Moonlighting...)

This is the best show on TV. Smart, funny, sexy. What more can you ask for? And I believe Beckett and Castle will make a wildly entertaining couple. If any show can pull it off successfully its this one. The writers and actors are talented enough for it to work and the chemistry can't be denied for long. Can't wait to see where they take season three.
