‘That’s not John. This is my friend.’

By the time Jungle Claire uttered those words, viewers knew the ‘friend’ in question would turn out to be Smocke.

But wasn’t it a great moment anyway? The look on Jin’s face!

Earlier this month, Show Tracker visited The Island and caught up with Jungle Claire herself. We didn’t get to see the squirrel bones baby in person, but we did get to talk to Emilie de Ravin about Claire’s return to the series and the fun she’s having playing a very different mommy.

We now know that for three years, while the Oceanic 6 were busy taking showers, eating good food, and having sex off the island, Claire was traipsing around the jungle with Smocke.

‘He’s the only one who didn’t abandon her, so there’s such a strong bond there now,’ De Ravin said. Which is understandable since John Locke built Aaron a crib as a birthday present for Claire and took care of her like she was his own daughter back when he was still John Locke. (He was, right?)

To hear from De Ravin herself, watch the video.
Note: Please forgive our amateur videography. During the interview, we moved the camera in a very bad way and could have edited that out, but didn’t want to cut De Ravin’s sentence in half. Perhaps we caught Claire’s ‘infection’ when this occurred.
