Evan Lysacek on 'Dancing With the Stars'?

He’s conquered the Olympics. So naturally, the next step for gold medal-winning figure skater Evan Lysacek would be to conquer … a reality dance show competition? The Los Angeles-based Lysacek told EW.com he’d like to be a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

“I would love to try ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” he told EW in an e-mail. “I was a proud audience member (and cheerleader) as my friends Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Ohno danced their way to the Mirrorball trophy. All I have heard from everyone that has done the show is what a blast it is. That could be a good way for me to do something extremely challenging, but also fun to celebrate my Olympic win.”

This, coming off the recent news that Lysacek has opted not to compete in ice skating’s World Championships next month in Turin. Italy. Could he be clearing his schedule for a chance for a spin on the rectagon floor instead?

Season 10’s contestants will be announced during the “Bachelor” finale March 1. What do you think of Lysacek on “DWTS"? Who should he be paired up with?

I believe he is slated to be on tour until June w/Stars on Ice, so even if ABC wants him, they will likely have to wait until the fall rendition of DWTS.

I like Lysacek enough. However, the personality of the more intertaining, funny, witty,sometimes contraversial, but always fabulous Johnny Weir would seem like perfect for DWTS. Then, I would probably watch that show. I guess Lysacek makes sense too, but it wouldn't really excite me the same way. Either way, I guess it's great for figure skating.

but not fair. christie wasn't fair either - so learn from that.

why not get someone who could use a boost like Lindsay Vonn who fell twice or the nice girl who wears the tieras? even better would be a USA hockey player! didn't wayne gretsky once participate in olympics.. he'd be perfect!

just try to get non-figureskater, non-gymnast as olympic contestant.. pls?

Johnny Weir would be fabulous on DWTS. Lysacek, is boooorrring-sorry. Unlike Johnny, he has zero charisma. Would I pay to see Lysacek skate? No. Would I pay to see Weir? YES!!!

How about Shermar Moore? I would love to see what he could bring to the dance floor. He oozes charisma!!!!
