ENTERTAINING: Leslie (Amy Poehler) hosts a dinner party at her house to try to impress Justin (Justin Theroux) on "Parks and Recreation," at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.

SERIES

Community: The gang finds out that Jeff (Joel McHale) has a new love interest, which he wanted to keep under wraps. Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase also star (8 p.m. NBC).

The Deep End: The lives of five rookie lawyers at a prestigious Los Angeles firm are the meat of this new drama series starring Matt Long, Leah Pipes, Ben Lawson, Tina Majorino and Mehcad Brooks (8 p.m. ABC).

Modern Marvels: While there may not be anything modern or all that marvelous about "Eggs," this new episode charts the dietary staple's journey from the henhouse to the breakfast table (8 p.m. History).

Live From Lincoln Center: Violinist Joshua Bell performs at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse; with Kristin Chenoweth, Nathan Gunn, Frankie Moreno and Marvin Hamlisch (8:30 p.m. KCET).

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Investigators collect evidence after a legendary golfer is murdered at a high-profile tournament (9 p.m. CBS).

The Office: In this new episode, a potential buyer shows interest in Dunder Mifflin, which has Michael, Dwight, Andy and Pam (Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms and Jenna Fischer) turning themselves inside out to impress him (9 p.m. NBC).

When Liz (Tina Fey) organizes a "TGS" road trip, Jack (Alec Baldwin) insists on choosing the destination and coming along for the ride in this new episode (9:30 p.m. NBC).

The Mentalist: Sharon Lawrence guest stars as Mayor Melba Walker Shannon, as Jane (Simon Baker) and the team investigate the murder of the mayor's aide. Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti, Roark Critchlow and Sean Maher also star (10 p.m. CBS).

Soundstage: Grammy-winning country singer Tim McGraw is featured in this new episode (10 p.m. KCET).

Jersey Shore: The unscripted series wraps up its first season (10 p.m. MTV).

The Jerk: Steve Martin's unique brand of humor is at its most absurdly endearing in this 1979 comedy, in which he plays a naive bumpkin adopted by a black Mississippi family. Bernadette Peters also stars (6:35 p.m. Cinemax).

Escape From Alcatraz: Shot on Alcatraz Island, this film is based on the true story of the only escape from the maximum-security prison built on an island surrounded by frigid, shark-infested waters. Clint Eastwood, Patrick McGoohan and Danny Glover star in the 1979 drama (7 p.m. TCM).

SPORTS

College basketball: Louisville at Seton Hall (4 p.m. ESPN); Indiana at Penn State (4 p.m. ESPN2); Florida at Arkansas (6 p.m. ESPN); Washington at UCLA (7:30 p.m. FS Prime)
