'Caprica' countdown: An exclusive new trailer and the home planet
On Day 2 of the "Caprica" countdown, we look at an exclusive trailer that reveals a bit more about the overall storyline, its possible direction and some of the familial, societal and ethical boundaries that the series will most likely cross. The teaser was presented recently at the Television Critics Association press tour and hasn't been seen publicly.
A lot of questions are asked in the promo and buried within the family drama will probably be the age-old question that shows like "Star Trek" have asked and answered in pretty much every incarnation they had: At what point is something considered to be an active lifeform? Guess every space-faring planet has to go through it, even the mighty crown jewel of the 12 colonies, Caprica. Though you'll get to know it soon enough, here's a description of the planet (that sounds a bit familiar):
A lush blue and green world with a mild climate, Caprica is currently the only unquestioned superpower of the colonies. Its economy and popular culture fuel the colonies. Caprica is primarily a secular planet of comfort, safety, and wealth, beginning now to grapple with a disaffected youth culture.
Coming up ... interviews with a Tauron uncle and the man behind the music.

Thanks for doing this countdown. Caprica has the makings of a great series.

Love the trailer. I think Caprica could be even better than Battlestar Galactica.

Cheers for the trailer... though we've seen a lot of that already in the first episode... nice to see some extra shots from others.
Can't see it beating the drive and complexity of BSG but it's a start.

Unfortuantly I have little faith in this series after the disaster that was BSG ending.
Unfortuantly Scifi is like cocaine to me, an I am very addictive so I will probably end up watching every episode. Even if it just to watch the actresses. Ron Moor have proven himself to many times to be completely incapable of taking on the task of answering question such as presented in this article, certainly not in a entertaining way anyway. As he demonstrated in BSG final season.

Obviously, like seinfied, it's best to end the series while on top, bsg was a great series, however, it tried to fit two or even three more seasons all in it's last season. Too many unanswered questions, the answered we did get was thrown to us on 30 seconds or less. Moore was not on top with bsg. The series had to much of a following yo end like that. The plan was great, but still left out anything to do with the origin of the final five. Where they were from and who created them. Caprica had potential to answer some questions butonly questions about the recent past. I'm sure there will be head characters guiding the way or angels like starbuck that can be reborn, along with their vipers, bit I'm guessing that on the end Moore cracked up bsg by abruptly ending it so he can start a new series, caprica, which on sure that he will frack up too eventually. Having more than one project is great but it shouldn't mean that things should be done half fast. Disappointed bsg fan.
Starbuck was an angel?
The head characters are angels?
Was starbucks mother real?
Was her father a piano teacher?
Are bsg viewers idiots?
