Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas: This new two-hour yuletide special, culled from holiday-themed sketches over the show’s last 35 years including appearances by Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and Justin Timberlake, and featuring Gilly (Kristen Wiig) in new sketches (8 p.m. NBC).

Christmas in Connecticut: A successful lifestyle journalist (Barbara Stanwyck) is portrayed to her readers as the sweetest, most efficient homemaker in the countryside, but in reality is a chain-smoking urbanite in a city apartment. Dennis Morgan and S.Z. Sakall co-star in this 1945 romantic comedy (5 p.m. TCM).

The Matrix Reloaded: Neo (Keanu Reeves) and his comrades, Morpheus and Trinity (Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss), must save their world from machines in this 2003 science fiction adventure. Hugo Weaving, Jada Pinkett Smith and Monica Bellucci also star (8 p.m. AMC).

Akeelah and the Bee: Keke Palmer received rave reviews for her performance as Akeelah, a young wannabe spelling champ who doesn’t have much hope for her future, with her father dead, her mother disinterested and her brother running in a gang. Laurence Fishburne, Angela Bassett and Curtis Armstrong also star in this inspiring 2006 drama (8 p.m. Disney).

Powder Blue: An ex-convict (Forest Whitaker) tracks down his daughter (Jessica Biel) after serving 25 years in prison in this 2009 drama (9 p.m. Showtime).
