As soon as Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) serenaded his friends with naughty holiday songs last season on “How I Met Your Mother,” it was only a matter of time before another holiday classic got a dirty makeover.

To promote its upcoming broadcast of “Frosty the Snowman” and “Frosty Returns” on Dec. 18, CBS has released “Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman.” The video takes real dialogue lifted from Harris’ womanizing, alpha male character on the show and overlays it on scenes from the animated specials.

In 2006, “Scrubs” did something similar with “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Former “Scrubs” writers’ assistant Ryan A. Levin wrote dialogue for the show’s cast, which was then cut together with the Peanuts special by editor Daniel Russ, according to the Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan.
