Are ABC and Adam Lambert making up?

Adam Lambert just tweeted that he's going to be appearing on "The View," which ABC confirms.

"Hey friends! I will be performing and hanging w the ladies of ABC's The View Thursday the 10th!" he tweeted.

ABC declined to comment about the decision but sent out a release confirming that Lambert will appear on Thursday's show.

Lambert will be interviewed by "The View" hosts and will perform. Both will be pre-taped because Lambert has a scheduling conflict and cannot be in New York on Thursday, sources said.

The appearance follows Lambert's sit-down interview with Barbara Walters for her "10 Most Fascinating People" special on Dec. 9.

[Updated at 6:41 p.m.: The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which in the last two days has issued three statements regarding its position on this issue, has now issued a statement from its president, Jarrett Barrios: "ABC has taken a step towards fairness by inviting Adam Lambert to perform on 'The View.'" GLAAD has been advocating against the double standards that have been applied to Lambert as an openly gay performer. We thank community members and allies for voicing their concerns with ABC so that entertainers like Adam have the opportunity to be broadcast into living rooms across America."]

[Updated at 10:09 p.m.: An earlier version of this post misspelled Barbara Walters' first name as Babara.]

Awesome - can't wait to see him!

I am very glad to hear this. Adam is an excellent interview and a great performer, so this will be an excellent show.

YES!!! I'll tune it for that!

Smart move, ABC. Give this young man a chance to show the world how personable and articulate he is and what a great singer he is.

The AMA's were just one performance - he has learned from his mistakes. Let's all move on.

Way to cave ABC! Will not be watching.

Very HAPPY to read this! Adam is an amazing performer and interviewee. I think the real loser in all of this is GLAAD, there credibility was questionable to begin with and now they have NONE at all.

While I didn't care for the AMA performance, I know that Adam is so much more than that. He is such a wonderful and talented person - I am sure he has learned some lessons and will now continue to entertain us.

I am thrilled he is back on ABC, and will definitely tune in to The View and to the Barbara Walters Special.

Finally, thanks ABC. But are you barring him from live shows? He's learned his lesson, he knows what's at stake. He'll be a boy-scout, so put him back on the New Years Eve line-up for god sake.

Well, I have not been watching ABC since they cancelled Adam's last two scheduled appearance clearly showing a double standard and disappointing his fans who had made flight, hotel and ticket plans to go see him.

I think this is good news. I hope this means the relationship between Mr. Lambert and his people and ABC and their people are thawing a bit....

I will watch The View and monitor things as I decide if I will bring ABC back into my normal viewing plans.

I think the whole thing got way over blown for all concerned, whether pro or con and this is a start in the right direction. Let's all try to take the high road:-)

yaaaay he is performing too .. i hope that means no more war pllz ABC .. Adam is a great guy and so polite it only a performance it just entertainment ..

Good for ABC and for Adam. Glad we are moving on.

Let's focus on the music!

So glad to hear that ABC is reconsidering their obvious over-reaction after the AMA's. I guess Walters has more power than Jimmy Kimmel! But, I bet Jimmy is a bit ticked cuz I think he was looking forward to having Adam on, too!

I guess ABC just blinked! I'm very pleased he will be on The View, I think Barbara Walters has a LOT of pull! Adam Lambert is an amazing talent, I've never heard a voice as good as his....his album is amazing.

First I want to thanks the Community to help Adam's for be punish by ABC about his entertaining songs on the stage for the AMA's november 22 this year.

Second to thanks also the GLAAD for agree and understand that Adam Lambert there was Double Standards on the performances.

And finally, I will thanks to ABC to now let View show interviewing Adam and let Adam's performing his songs and thanks Woopie and Barbara for accept Adam's for who he are last week on there show.

From a grandmother to Montreal Canada!
Adam fan's for ever!!!

YAY!!! Thank goodness. I thought this whole saga was going to drag on ALL MONTH. Glad both ABC and Adam decided to straighten up (if you'll pardon the expression) and just learn to get along. Kiss and make up. Thanks ABC and Adam!

Thank you ABC! Even if you didn't like Adam Lambert's AMA performance I think it's time to move forward and this is a good step for both sides. (Almost) everybody deserves a second chance, you know.

Guess the insane folks at ABC can't say No to Barbara. Since Adam taped the interview for her special a few days ago, she obviously saw what an extraordinary person he is, and that he poses no threat to the morals of their family audience. Thank You, Ms. Walters for bringing sanity back to this story.

This is kinda hilarious! I will actually be watching the View now I guess. Good job Adam Lambert, because I am definitely being entertained by all this hoopla.

The View Women should show a VIDEO OF PINK FROM THE BILLBOARD AWARDS FROM 2004 where Pink DID THE EXACT SAME THING (grabbed a guy's head and put it to her crotch). No one said boo about that! Pink already did it!! Where was the FCC then!!! See! There IS a double standard! Kudos Adam. EVERYONE WATCH THE PINK VIDEO FROM BILLBOARD AWARDS SHOW 2004. She did the SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can't lay off of ABC just becaue they are having Adam on the View. That probably has more to do with Barbara then the powers that be at ABC/Disney. I actually don't think we can assume anything from this booking. ABC is trying to distract the public from the big issues here. Adam is just the glass that brought things into focus. Now when Adam tweets that he will be on NYRE, then I will consider that ABC has truly come to it's senses. Until then, the media, the viewing public, need to keep the heat on them. In my eyes, they are still allied with the Liberty Councel to push their private agenda.
