Sesame Street: First Lady Michelle Obama teaches kids about the benefits of planting a garden and healthy eating in the season premiere of the long-running children's show (7 a.m. KCET).

Explorer: The episode "Secret History of Diamonds" focuses on the symbol of wealth, glamour and undying love that has inspired wars, atrocities and crime (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

90210: Teddy (Trevor Donovan) helps Jackie (Ann Gillespie) plan a surprise party for Silver (Jessica Stroup), and Navid (Michael Steger) sees Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) buying drugs from Jasper (Zach Sherman) in this new episode (8 p.m. KTLA).

e2 Design: This new series premieres with a look at sustainable skyscrapers and apartment towers in New York City (8 p.m. Sundance).

Melrose Place: The police search for Auggie (Colin Egglesfield) after discovering his blood was on the murder weapon (9 p.m. KTLA).

Dirty Jobs: After doing some research on beetles, Mike tries his hand at making glass art (9 p.m. Discovery).

The Universe: The episode "Extreme Energy" documents the various forms of energy that maintain the universe's equilibrium while creating massive cosmic events and stellar displays (9 p.m. History).

The Good Wife: Alicia (Julianna Margulies) represents the daughter of one of the partners in the firm, and her co-counsel on the case, Ryan Alprin (Chris Bowers), is taking an unusual approach to the defense. Christine Baranski and Josh Charles also star in the new episode (10 p.m. CBS).

Tabatha's Salon Takeover: Tabatha travels to Miami to rescue 21-year-old Pablo Hernandez, who clearly bit off more than he could chew when he purchased his business, Allure Salon (10 p.m. Bravo).

Ghost Lab: The team investigates two locations rumored to be haunted by the ghost of John Wilkes Booth (10 p.m. Discovery).

Full Throttle Saloon Motorcyclists descend on Sturgis, S.D., and the biggest biker bar in the world in this new, unscripted series (10 p.m. Tru).

In the Spotlight With Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Big Stars. All Access Nashville: On the eve of the CMA Awards, "Good Morning America" anchor Roberts goes home with several country music stars, including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Martina McBride (10 p.m. ABC).

MOVIES

The Taming of the Shrew: Director Franco Zeffirelli cast celebrity couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who dominated as Katharina and Petruchio, in this opulent 1967 adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy. Michael York, Cyril Cusack, Natasha Pyne and Michael Hordern costar (5 p.m. TCM).

The Tale of Despereaux: A mouse (Matthew Broderick) goes against the edicts of his rodent-oriented homeland and is cast out in this 2008 animation featuring the voices of Dustin Hoffman, Emma Watson and Tracey Ullman (7 p.m. HBO).
