The Universe: Computer graphics help illustrate the difference between the phenomena of pulsars and quasars (9 p.m. History).

Monica: Still Standing: This new, unscripted series premieres as recording artist Monica works on her fifth studio album (10 p.m. BET).

Flipping Out: The show’s principal figures -- obsessive-compulsive house flipper Jeff Lewis, assistant Jenni Pulos, housekeeper Zoila Chavez and Jeff’s ex-boyfriend -- and possibly ex-business partner -- Ryan Brown reunite to discuss the events of Season 3 (10 p.m. Bravo).

The Little Couple: In the season premiere the couple make an appointment to test Jen’s lung capacity, which is important in determining her ability to carry a baby (10 p.m. TLC).

High Noon: Gary Cooper gives an Oscar-winning performance as a western lawman forced to take on an old nemesis single-handedly when the townspeople turn yellow. Grace Kelly, Lon Chaney Jr., Lloyd Bridges and Ian MacDonald also star in this 1952 classic (3:30 p.m. TCM).

Poltergeist: In 1982, the same year that Steven Spielberg was charming us with ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,’ he was scaring us out of our wits with this suburban horror film starring Craig T. Nelson, JoBeth Williams, Heather O’Rourke and Dominique Dunne (5 p.m. TCM).
