'So You Think You Can Dance': Nigel Lythgoe says it's so — Mia Michaels is departing
“We are thrilled to have given a talent such as Mia Michaels a platform to create Emmy Award-winning choreography. During the auditions this season she has helped choose the best, most diverse top 20 we have ever had. She knows that she is always welcome to return later this season or next. She’s chosen to move on to new challenges, and we will continue to support her and wish her all the best.”
Here's hoping she does return, as her choreography and appearances as a judge have provided some of the most entertaining and artistically moving parts of the show.

Doh... I can't breathe... say it isn't so!

Oh, no! She is such a big part of the show, both as a choreographer and judge - and, simply, personality. I'll miss her no end. Please Ms Michaels, be done with those other challenges swiftly and successfully, and come back!

I am stunned by Mia Michaels leaving SYTYCD. She and Nigel, and Mary are just as important to the show for me as the wonderful dancers. They bring their expertise and knowledge to the show that has made it that much more interesting and wonderful to watch. I hope she does return and that Mary, Nigel and the other jugdes have no plans on leaving SYTYCD. I can't watch the show without them. Best wishes to Ms. Michaels.

Personally, I'll miss her choreography, but I won't miss her behavior as a panel member during auditions or as a judge. Her comments last season to Brandon were unprofessional and an indication that she takes herself far too seriously. Something has changed her sense of taste and compassion recently, and I wish she would deal with whatever issues she has and get back to the person she was during the first several seasons of the show.

It'll be hard to watch the show knowing I can't look forward to her pieces. This show isn't about the judges as much as the choreographers - I could do with or without Mary, for example. This probably changes my loyalty, I'll watch if I can, but I want make it a priority as I did before.

I just hope she can do rehab or something to help her overcome her obvious personal problems --from her dislike of young women to her leering at the boys . Just because she has gotten fat and facially grotesque in her old age does not excuse her behavior . I wondered if her problems had popped out of a bottle . She IS a good choreographer but a miserable hateful phony as a person . Her fake emotionalism is awful and she seems totally lacking in self knowledge .

Oh no! Mia is one of the most creative choreographers on the show and her critiques are spot on. I know I'll really miss her. I hope she'll miss the show and come back soon

I am really going to miss Mia's choreography. :(

I will always watch SYTYCD - but the show will be just a little less wonderful without Mia. Her personal style, choreography, and dedication to the dancers will be missed. Mia, you will be thought of often, and I hope that your choices lead you to even greater challenges and personal satisfaction....

Is this about money perhaps?
