NBC cancels 'Trauma,' closes in on more 'Chuck'
Call it: NBC's "Trauma" is done.
The network has decided not to order any more episodes of the freshman medical drama, said to be the network's priciest new fall series, though it will finish producing the rest of its original 13-episode order. No word on whether NBC will air the remaining episodes.
The latest episode of "Trauma" aired Monday and scored 5.8 million total viewers and a 1.9 rating/4 share among adults 18 to 49 (a big drop in the demo from lead-in "Heroes," which posted a 2.5/7.)
According to THR.com, "Trauma" will be replaced by "Chuck" on Monday nights next year, paired with "Heroes.""Chuck," meanwhile, is close to an additional six-episode order that comes on top of the 13 hours already ordered for Season 3. The Wrap also reports that the spy adventure could be back on the air as soon as January, where its season would be split by the Olympics.
Last week, NBC picked up full seasons of "Mercy," "Community" and "Parks & Recreation."

this is VERY DISAPPOINTING. the show WAS REALLY GOOD! I also miss THE UNIT.

Trauma's premiere episode could have been better. They concentrated on splashy disaster special effects and left character development alone. I was just starting to get to like this show as we learned more about individual characters. Guess now, we'll never get the chance to watch them grow. R.I.P. Trauma. Good luck, NBC. Bring back "Life"!

I think NBC should be trying Chuck in a new time slot. It obviously isn't working Monday nights, given it's less than ideal ratings. Plus, it'd be competing against The Big Bang Theory, and both go after that geek-loving demographic. I vote NBC par down The Biggest Loser to just an hour show and have Chuck on Tuesdays at 9pm. This won't happen, but I think that'd be the best night for it.

Is NBC actually getting it after 20 years of GE mismanagement?
Bringing back Chuck and Friday Night Lights? Amazing.
Listen to Big Jim. He tells it like it is...

Seriously? Trauma puts all the 5 minute cliffhanger bits together into an hour long program. Its truly fun to watch!
Our loss they are canceling it!

YAY - more Chuck!

Yay for Chuck!!! Sucks that Trauma isn't sticking around, I was just starting to really get into it. What NBC really needs to do is drop that stinkbomb Jay Leno, total waste of time, I never even bother to try watching it.

Of course Trauma will be canceled. Whenever I really like a show, it gets canceled. Never fails. Eli Stone was also one of my favorites... Gone again

Don't really care what they cancel at this point, they (NBC) lost me when they decided to put Jay Leno on 5 nights a week at 10pm. CBS is what I'm watching!

I am so happy to hear that Chuck is coming back. Chuck fans want the 6 more episodes.

I think the low ratings are due to the fact that there have been too many medical shows - most of which are 'soap opera' level quality - so folks didn't tune into another one. However, TRAUMA is EXCELLENT! I love the characters, scripts, it is refreshing! I like that the are not cooped up in ANOTHER (stale) emergency room.
I watched Chuck for about the first 1/2 year - I have not missed the show at all.

This news stinks. I love Trauma, the show really keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love the fast moving storylines. I do not watch Chuck and will not. These two shows are polar opposites. Chuck does not interest me in the least. Bring back Trauma!

Love Chuck!!!! Awesome cast and show

Trauma was OK but I'm not going to miss it.
Glad to see Chuck come back.
Second on bringing back 'Life'!
And Fox, if you're listening, drop that Doll House crap and bring back the Sarah Conner Chronicles, damn it!
That is all.
