ABC finally hits its comedy stride

For years, ABC has been home to dramas that helped revolutionize the genre, but has had little luck in developing funny shows that strike a chord with viewers.

This season, however, ABC has struck a trifecta with its new single-camera comedies, ‘Modern Family,’ ‘Cougar Town’ and ‘The Middle.’ On Thursday, the network ordered full seasons of all three shows.
