ABC finally hits its comedy stride

For years, ABC has been home to dramas that helped revolutionize the genre, but has had little luck in developing funny shows that strike a chord with viewers.

This season, however, ABC has struck a trifecta with its new single-camera comedies, "Modern Family," "Cougar Town" and "The Middle." On Thursday, the network ordered full seasons of all three shows.

I gave "Cougar Town" three viewings, then lost interest. It seemed that the show was trying too hard to be too cute. Its tendency to also skew towards the faux risque was a major turnoff for me. I'm paying a lot more attention to "Modern
Family" and "The Middle". Now, if ABC would only pick up "Southland".

Courtney Cox tries to be a comedian, but with her pretentious pout and superficial acting skills, just dosen't succeed..."Friends" stars are fading and should not be rehashed again and again....oh so boring.....
