America’s Got Talent: Four acts advance to the finals and David Hasselhoff performs (9 p.m. NBC).

Wide Angle: The documentary series wraps its current season with ‘Time for School 3,’ the third installment (presented in two parts, concluding next week) of programs spotlighting the global crisis in providing children with access to even basic education. The film visits seven classrooms in seven countries to find children who struggle to get what American kids take for granted (10 p.m. KCET).

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington: James Stewart plays the title character of this 1939 drama, an idealistic young man appointed to be a U.S. senator who then stands up to corrupt politicians and political bosses. Jean Arthur also stars in director Frank Capra’s film (5 p.m. TCM).

Casablanca: An exiled and bitter American (Humphrey Bogart) running a popular nightclub in Casablanca can’t help but fall in love again with his one-time sweetheart (Ingrid Bergman) in this 1942 film that is one of the true Hollywood classics. Claude Rains, Paul Henreid, Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre also star (7:15 p.m. TCM).

SPORTS

Tennis: U.S. Open, men’s first round and women’s second round (10 a.m. and 4 p.m. ESPN2).

Baseball: The White Sox take on the Twins (10 a.m. WGN), the Angels meet the Mariners (3:30 p.m. FSN), and the Dodgers host the Diamondbacks (7 p.m. FS Prime).
