[UPDATE] Tweet this, Ashton: CW cancels 'The Beautiful Life: TBL'

After just two episodes have aired, The CW has pulled the plug on "The Beautiful Life: TBL," a drama executive produced by Ashton Kutcher about young models living in New York.

The first of fall's new shows to be canceled, "TBL" premiered to just 1.5 million viewers last week. Wednesday's episode was seen by only 1 million. The series starred Mischa Barton and Sara Paxton.

No word on what will replace the series in the Wednesday 9 p.m. time slot, but reruns of "Melrose Place" are likely. (The CW used a similar strategy to help build "90210" last year.) "Melrose" has seen drops in viewership since its Sept. 8 premiere but recently coaxed back original "special guest star" (and surefire ratings draw) Heather Locklear, who will return for multiple episodes beginning Nov. 17.

[Update: It's official: "Melrose Place" will begin rerunning Wednesdays at 9 pm beginning Sept. 30.]

After only two shows?! Wow. I watched both and it was interesting. Give it some time!!

I'm not that shocked. The CW did not do a very good job on promoting this show. And with this fall line up for CW, ABC, FOX and NBC, it's a tough competition right now.

However I kind of hope they'll bring it back in the future. I didn't think the show was that bad. I actually liked TBL better than Melrose Place.

I would have watched it as would my teenage daughter but we never saw advertisements or even knew it was on tv yet.... let alone which channel! My kids are fans of Corbin Bleu and Sara Paxton.

I didn't watch the series premiere, but I did get it off of itunes and it was really interesting. So I tuned in for the 2nd episode and thought it had a good story line. Like Seriously CW you didn't even advertize it. All I heard about it was from Ashton Kutcher on his twitter page, and I don't even follow him. lol I've seen a million ad's for Vampire Diaries in comparison.

CW just made a huge mistake canceling this excellent show. What will they d0 when that horrible show, "Melrose Place" does the same thing?

The Beautiful Life was one of the only shows i could watch a whole episode of with interest in a long time. I won't miss not watching CW again.

I am very disappointed to hear about this show being cancelled. I didnt know it was coming on but i saw it online and watched the 1st episode. i loved it! Now i cant even watch thhe 2nd episode. PLease bring it back!

So even the CWs audience gets tired of the same old garbage. Seriously I'm getting so sick of seeing shows about rich people in there late teens or early twenties getting into unreal situations. This and reality TV shows are the reason why I hate TV.

this bites this show was amazing! i mean give it time, it was really good, ik like 50 kids in my school that r so devistaed about this happening. THE CW NEEDS TO BRING IT BACK . i mean if they were to advertise it more they would have so many more veiweres.

Im pretty upset by the cancellation. TBL was amazing. very intertaining. much better than Melrose Place. i actually was happy to sit down and watch this show and looking forward to the season. this really blows. any way we can petition it to stay on.? Mischa Barton & Sara Paxton are great. im wish they'd reconsider.
