Masterpiece Mystery! The main suspect in an assault on a young girl seems to have an air-tight alibi in the new episode "Inspector Lewis, Series II: The Great and the Good" (9 p.m. KCET).

Bored to Death: Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and "The Hangover's" Zach Galifianakis star in this quirky new comedy series (9:30 p.m. HBO).

King Kong: Naomi Watts takes the Fay Wray role in director Peter Jackson's effects-laden 2005 reimagining of the classic 1933 creature feature (7 p.m. ABC).

The Dark Knight: Christian Bale's Batman battles Heath Ledger's Joker in director Christopher Nolan's 2008 sequel (7:30 p.m. Cinemax).
