Heather Locklear reprises her role as Amanda Woodward on 'Melrose Place'

The "special guest star" is back.

As expected, The CW announced this morning that Heather Locklear is joining "Melrose Place" for multiple episodes. The actress will reprise her role as scheming ad executive Amanda Woodward beginning Nov. 17

In a statement, executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer said they were "ecstatic" about the deal. "Heather's involvement in the show is something we've been working on for some time as we couldn't imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character's inclusion."

Locklear will be joining a cast that already includes original "Melrose" stars Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro. Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga will also be back as guest stars.

I just wonder if this is going to be a permanent role or a short burst of appearances. It sounds like they are setting her up for a long term role as Ella's boss, but since this is Melrose, they can always kill her off later. ;)
