The CW has ordered an eight-episode show about the life and times of New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer. Of course, this won’t be the first time television will see a ‘Gossip Girl’-inspired reality series. Bravo had moderate success this year with its ‘NYC Prep,’ which chronicled the high school drama of the sons and daughters of Manhattan’s Upper East side.

The untitled Moritimer project will, according to the press release, ‘lift the curtain on New York’s most talked about ‘Park Avenue Princess’ and her young, elite society friends.’ NYMag.com fashion blog The Cut saw this coming back in April. Of course, Mortimer has already contributed a cameo to ‘Gossip Girl.’
