Video: The gleeks of 'Glee' spill storylines, songs and guest stars

August 29, 2009 | 11:31 am

Glee After winning over critics and fans alike with their special preview in May, the cast of “Glee" is ready to hit the ground running, one rousing musical performance at a time.

With the Sept. 9 season premiere only weeks away, we caught up with cast members on the final stop of their 10-city 'Gleek' tour at Hot Topic in Hollywood. The cast was tight-lipped but we managed to get the scoop on everything from a fake pregnancy (thank goodness Terri isn't really preggers!) to possible new relationships (Finn and Rachel?) in addition to all the juicy details on upcoming guest stars and music picks.

For those who really can’t get enough “Glee” -- and especially those with a knack for karaoke -- Show Tracker has learned exclusively from MySpace that starting Sept. 9, MySpace Karaoke will host monthly "Glee" club contests where fans can perform tunes from that night's episode to win a trip to Hollywood to see a taping of the show.

So what can we expect from the glee club members this year? Who are the cast's favorite guest stars so far? What recent radio hits have made it onto the cast's wish list of performances? And who might be joining the glee club?! Watch our video interviews with the cast after the jump to find out all that and more.

Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of the over commercialized television shows that find a way into every aspect of my TV viewing experience (i.e. a constant ticker or banner for when the next season or episode of “Heroes” is going to air…great show but give me a break). I’m a network security auditor that is against piracy but an advocate of freedom of the arts; I believe that if a movie, song, poem or book, isn’t available in my language or in the format I wish to enjoy it in isn’t available, i have the right to attain it in a matter of my choosing for the sake of demonstration and protestation.
With all that out of the way I find myself watching this television show called “Glee”. It has a simple premise…A group of outcasts finding themselves utterly drawn to the age old traditions of song and dance. I was in my church choir, middle school choir, high school choir, and I sucked at it. I was a baritone singing with tenors and I have nightmares about my senior year solo performance; but why did I do it? I loved to express myself through song. High school social dynamics made sure I knew I was doing the WRONG thing so I also participated in sports for the sole purpose of being accepted. The premise, humor, sarcasm, and social contradictions of “Glee” are exactly what I have been waiting for in a TV show. Fox has done an amazing job of delivering this show to its viewers. Ladies and gentleman I actually watched the series premiere WITH COMMERCIALS. I couldn’t wait for the FF> version from my dvr.
I am sure to be criticized for this post but I am going to post it on every forum I am a member of for the sole purpose of emphasizing one point…the fine arts are dying and this show may be the adrenaline that brings it back to life. Bravo for using the actors actual voices!
Please watch this show, record this show, share this show with your friends. Keep the musical arts alive.
