The stars of G4’s “2 Months, $2 Million,” a show about “20-something whiz kids turned professional poker players,” didn’t appreciate one journalist’s comparing them to the geeky geniuses of CBS comedy “The Big Bang Theory.”

Some of them didn’t even know what it was. Dani explained: “It’s a show about nerds, basically.

“I wasn’t nerdy at all!” Brian said.

“I like ‘Star Wars,’ though,” Jay said.

The show will follow its young cast members in Las Vegas, where they share a mansion and challenge themselves to collectively earn $2 million in two months playing online poker using their own money. According to the guys, the episodes will revolve more around the perks of being young and rich in Vegas than on poker.

So the reporter pressed on: Is there a tremendous sense of satisfaction having girls in bikinis draped around you? (The implication: “…because you’re nerds.”)

Yikes. Jay broke it down for her. “I think, ‘nerd’ is something G4 likes to call us, but, honestly, we’ve had sex before.” The crowd chuckled. “People will be surprised at the ease at which I talk to girls.”

“2 Months, $2 Million” premieres Aug. 16.
