As the official network announcements draw near and network executives prepare to announce their lineups in Manhattan this week, there are nine series across the broadcast networks waiting to hear if they will be renewed.

But others already have received the bad news: ABC canceled ‘The Unusuals,’ which premiered this spring and hasn’t found an audience. Although CBS has not canceled ‘Without a Trace,’ and the CW has not canceled ‘Privileged,’ those series are not likely to return this fall, according to sources close to the shows.

ABC hasn’t rendered a verdict on ‘Samantha Who?’ or ‘Surviving Suburbia.’ CBS is sitting on ‘The Unit,’ ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine,’ ‘Gary Unmarried’ and ‘Rules of Engagement.’ NBC is weighing ‘My Name Is Earl,’ ‘Medium’ and ‘Law & Order,’ though the latter two are expected to survive.
