'Top Chef': Do you want to have dinner with Toby Young?

April 21, 2009 |  1:11 pm

Young Here's your big chance. Toby Young, the British snarkmaster now famous for comparing crab soup to a WMD in the fifth season of "Top Chef," is auctioning off a dinner in Las Vegas with — who else? — himself. In the name of charity.

The winnings are as follows: Two nights' stay at the Las Vegas Hilton starting May 1, dinner for you and a guest with Young on May 2 at Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak at the MGM Grand Hotel and a Season 5 "Top Chef" T-shirt signed by the entire group of chefs and a "Top Chef" cookbook signed by Colicchio.

Young says he'll be in town specifically to review the restaurant and says, in this video, that he'll be soliciting the winner's thoughts. Colicchio can "talk the talk, but can he walk the walk? Join me and find out."

Bidding started at $9.99 last Wednesday but reached $305 by Tuesday morning. Interested dining companions have until Saturday to try to make their claim. The winning bid will be donated to the Starlight Children's Foundation.
