‘Gossip Girl’: Krysten Ritter joins spinoff cast

The first character has been cast for the upcoming ‘Gossip Girl’ spinoff. Krysten Ritter (‘Veronica Mars,’ ‘Gilmore Girls’) is jumping on board to play Lily van der Woodsen’s older sister and black sheep of the family, Carol Rhodes. The pilot for the spinoff, which follows young Lily’s adventures in 1980s California, airs on the May 11 episode of ‘Gossip Girl.’ If you can’t wait until then to catch a glimpse of Ritter, she’ll also be in ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ with Isla Fisher.

The burning question, though, is who will play young Lily? Post your suggestions!
