'Desperate Housewives': Edie's leaving Wisteria Lane
And this time she'll be gone for good!
"Desperate Housewives" fans might remember that the diabolical blond bombshell Edie, played by Nicollette Sheridan, has been nearly axed from the show not once but twice.
Two seasons ago, Edie tried to hang herself when Carlos left her for Gabrielle, and at the end of last season, she left town after her plan to blackmail Bree backfired and she was blackballed by the women on Wisteria Lane.
But the resilient Edie came back both times. This time will be different.
Spoiler alert! E! reports that Edie will be involved in a car accident after she discovers her husband Dave is planning to kill her. Whether or not the car accident itself is fatal, Edie's doomed.
Sheridan's reps confirmed her departure to "Extra": "Yes, [it’s] confirmed. Nicollette had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project.”
No word on when the actress' last episode will air.

The show will be the same without Edie. This is tragic in more ways than we'll ever know. It is tragic for the series, for Nicolette Sheridan's career (even if she may not think so), and perhaps most importantly to all the fans who let DH into their homes and hearts. It is heartbreaking, and I'm a speechless with shock.

DH will not be the same without Edie. I've grown to love and hate this vamp, also to feel sorry for her and at the same time get angry at her. She added spice to Wisteria Lane. I will miss her.

"This is tragic in more ways than we'll ever know." Are you serious? A little overly dramatic perhaps?
I may start watching again now that they are returning Eva Longoria to the hot little b***h role that she plays so well..

Wow, Desperate Housewives is Jumping the Shark! The show won't be nearly as good without Edie because she adds an important dynamic to it. How disappointing!

Bring back Edie!

Marc Cherry and crew, sorry you are losing Edie. But you can make up for it by getting back to the red meat of the show, scenes like Gabriella in a hair pulling catfight with the hot nun in church, or spreading for the gardener on the dining room table. Don't you want guys watching your show? Most are likely willing to watch a lot of soap to catch Gabriella in in an underwear set and thigh hi's.

Wow. I gotta give it up for Marc chery. He is so clever. And I love how he plays with the media to trick fans and every one else for the most shocking, juicy storylines. I don't think Edie is going anywhere. But I do think Dave is going to do something disturbing and gruesome and kill off one character who is actually not returning...Kathrine. Yep, Dana Delany will be exiting, not Nichollette. Jokes on the rest of the world. Now that's a crafty publicity stunt with a delicious payoff.

BAD, BAD, BAD idea. Horrible. Who is going to provide the comic relief, none of the other housewives are funny. NO NO NO.

I really want Katherine(Delany) to go too. The story of her and the story of mike is so boring. (since season 4) I really think Mike and Catherine should go. And Edie should stay.
