Keith Olbermann re-ups with MSNBC for four more years

November 10, 2008 | 12:40 pm

MNSBC has locked up host Keith Olbermann for four more years, the network announced Monday.

“Keith Olbermann is at the core of MSNBC’s current success,” said MSNBC President Phil Griffin.

In the last two years, Olbermann’s 5 p.m. PT show “Countdown” has helped propel the cable news network to new ratings heights. The outspoken host has used his program to lambaste the Bush administration, attracting both attention and controversy.

Under his new contract, Olbermann will not only continue hosting “Countdown,” but will play a prominent role in the MNSBC’s coverage of major news events. He also is keeping his gig as the co-host of NBC’s “Football Night in America.”

Keith is my hero! An honest man who clearly knows what is right even though he has a huge head. Maybe that's why he is so smart... Great stuff!

Congrats Keith!

A voice of reason in a sea of treason...

He has put Fox in a box which hopefully will go 6 feet under

Congratulations!
Well deserved!
Best wishes!

I just can't wait to see how Mr. Olberman spins the impending disaster of the next 4-years into yet another George Bush problem. The extension also provides several more years for a significant natural disaster to occur that could also somehow be blamed on Mr. Bush.

If we are lucky & things go on for the full 8 years (a likely scenario given the ability of the general public to fall for the modern-day Robin Hood scam) we might get to hear plausible explanations of how Regan's ghost is responsible for the mass exodus of capital & jobs bringing this country to the level of third-world status by 2016.

And we can only hope that somewhere during the coming years of partisan rants Keith decides to act upon his sexual obsession with "Bill-O" & finally proposes, (assuming California does indeed overturn the will of the people on Prop-8).

I can hardly wait....

Gee, no haters?

And I'm the first?

Good for Keith. Great show, part one of my two-hour news fix every night with the wonderful Rachel Maddow.

This show is horrible, although I'm not a fan of anything on msnbc Chris Matthews is even worse but it seems to me the only couple of times when I've watched Olberman he seems very intimidated by his competitor B.O'Reilly and that became old news..BORING
